Retirees Polled On Health Care Summit:
50% Say Democrats and Republicans Will Make No Progress on Health Care Reform
Just 8.2% think the summit will lead to progress, and 24% think the summit
should be cancelled
Burlingame, California – February 24, 2010 – An independent survey
of 2270 Medicare-eligible retirees revealed that 50% believe that President Obama’s
Health Care Summit will not lead to Democrats and Republicans making progress on
health care reform. Another 24% think it should be cancelled altogether, and just
8.2% think it will lead to the two parties working together to make progress.
The survey was fielded on Monday, February 22 by Extend Health, Inc., which operates
the largest private Medicare Exchange in the country. Extend Health has benefit
advisors who have helped more than 250,000 Medicare-eligible retirees find and evaluate
private Medicare plans that meet their personalized needs since the exchange was
launched in 2006.
Extend Health surveys its retiree customers frequently on their views of health
care, Medicare, and finances, then publishes the results.
